As a level designer on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I designed and built layouts, created gameplay environments from paper designs/concepts to final quality. I Worked close with Environment Art to ensure a perfect balance between gameplay setup and visual direction and with narrative design to ensure the story is carried well throughout the level. I was also Optimising and Bug fixing this level. I was also responisible for memory budget tracking. Most of my responsibilities working on the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were working on the Novigrad and open world area. My responsible varied from large scope tasks such as terrain sculpting, planting forests and creating background vistas to smaller scope such as designing and building villages, caves, ruins and bandit camps. I was collaborating with Art, Animation, Design, Combat and other departments to ensure all level design aspect comes well together.
With most of the locations I was doing blockouts from the rough concept or design intention to final state. |
